International Motors has appointed Sebastian Leger, a 20-year automotive sourcing veteran, as senior vice president and chief procurement officer.
Leger, who took over on April 1, leads the company's global procurement organization and reports directly to President and CEO Mathias Carlbaum, according to a March press release. His responsibilities include strategy, supplier partnerships and alignment with International's parent, TRATON Group.
“Sebastian’s extensive procurement leadership experience across the commercial vehicle industry – and his proven track record in cost optimization, supplier quality and strategic transformation – will help further strengthen International’s global procurement capabilities,” Carlbaum said in the release. "His leadership comes at a crucial time as we optimize our delivery of quality solutions to our customers.”
Before joining International, Leger was SVP for strategy and procurement at MAN Truck & Bus, where he led strategic sourcing initiatives, according to the release. During more than 14 years at MAN, he also served as SVP for purchasing cabin, electronics and product cost optimization and as SVP for purchasing bus.
