Premium Guard opened a distribution center in Weirton, West Virginia, that will serve as a hub in its North American logistics network, according to a June 27 press release.
The 377,000-square-foot facility's proximity to key transportation corridors in the Ohio Valley facilitates efficient delivery to customers across the U.S. and Canada, per the release. The company expects the distribution center to increase inventory capacity.
"This facility represents a significant step forward in how we serve our customers," Jason Hensley, VP of Operations at Premium Guard, said in the release. "With expanded capacity and advanced logistics capabilities, we're positioned to operate more efficiently, reduce lead times, and ensure faster, more reliable delivery across our network."
Premium Guard operates a 1.5-million-square-foot distribution network that includes two other facilities, one in Memphis, Tennessee, and the other in Lockbourne, Ohio, per the company’s website.
Other auto parts makers and sellers are also redoing supply chains to bolster efficiency. Stellantis' plans to open an auto parts "Megahub" in Detroit in 2027, while Advanced Auto Parts' has an ongoing push to unify its distribution network.
Premium Guard's Weirton opening comes roughly a week after auto parts maker Standard Motor Products opened its 575,000-square-foot national distribution center in Shawnee, Kansas, on June 17 to expand its supply chain footprint.
