The Marzettii Company named Schwan executive Mark Carter chief supply chain officer, effective July 13.

Carter will oversee Marzetti’s entire supply chain organization and help advance the company’s growth strategy, the company said in a press release. He replaced Luis Viso, who joined the specialty foodmaker as CSCO in 2023 and will retire later this year.
"[Mark] brings deep factory-based operational expertise combined with broad enterprise-level supply chain leadership," Marzetti President and CEO Dave Ciesinski said of Carter in the release.
Carter is joining Marzetti to continue efforts it has undertaken over the last three years to simplify its supply chain while delivering productivity gains, Ciesinski said.
Before joining Marzetti, Carter was EVP and chief supply chain officer for Schwan, leading the frozen food maker’s supply chain across 18 manufacturing sites, per the release. Carter spent more than two years at Schwan, according to his LinkedIn page.
Prior to Schwan, Carter held a series of executive roles at Unilever over 18 years, according to the release. His positions included SVP of supply chain for the North America ice cream business and head of supply chain operations for Canada.
Marzetti has made changes to its manufacturing network over the last two years. In February 2025, it acquired an Atlanta-based sauce and dressing production facility, adding efficiency and incremental capacity to the company's manufacturing supply chain, according to the company's latest annual report. The company also recently closed a sauce and dressing production facility in Milpitas, California.
