Gap Inc. is collaborating with artificial intelligence-powered supply chain software provider Inspectorio to advance product traceability and data collection efforts, according to an April 9 press release.
The retailer is using Inspectorio’s AI layer called Paramo, which supports industry quality, compliance, lab testing and traceability operations, Inspectorio VP of Product Marketing Nate Fleming told Supply Chain Dive. Using agents and copilots, Paramo boosts coordination across Gap’s supplier network by leveraging primary data that aims to improve supplier key performance indicators, cut the risk of regulator or product safety events and drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
In practice, the tool leverages copilots and agents to highlight trends and signals regarding partner performance against regulatory compliance requirements while enhancing quality inspection processes, Fleming said. The technology also speeds up corrective and preventive actions by automating workflows.
“At its core, Inspectorio digitizes the processes the retailers and suppliers rely on, from the factory floor and back office to the boardroom,” Fleming said.
Other retailers have also been leveraging Inspectorio technology to deepen production transparency across their supplier networks. In 2024, Dick’s Sporting Goods tapped Inspectorio to increase supplier engagement and reliability, in addition to monitoring production processes to eliminate risks. Meanwhile, apparel retailer Mango also began using Inspectorio’s Lab Test Management tool last year to digitize and standardize information to optimize sourcing.
