- Beginning this month, ARI Vehicle Downtime View tracks vehicle downtime for fleet managers keeping a tight watch on repair times and costs.
- Actual shop time, from start to finish, is automatically transmitted from the vehicle in question to the fleet manager and technicians, allowing for observation and continued contact.
- Lost time and revenue, especially related to replacement rentals, is minimized; allowing the supply chain to resume activity as soon as possible.
Dive Insight:
The ARI system is filling a void by producing better data for the repair process. Fleet managers can now tally expenses and calculate which vehicle models are most easily maintained. Positive service experiences are also noted by fleet managers.
Inspiration for development came on the heels of existing telematics technology. "We sought to pursue precision by combining 2 data streams at the core," said Tony Candeloro, VP Customer Information Systems and Product Innovation for ARI. "What was once just an estimate is now exactly tracked."
