FB Canada Express today announced the opening of its new Calgary facility, a significant investment in the company’s Western Canadian operations and its connected national logistics network.
Built for Greater Capacity, Speed and Flexibility
The state-of-the-art customs bonded warehouse was developed in response to growing customer demand for greater capacity, faster regional movement and more flexible inventory management in Alberta and Western Canada. Featuring modern infrastructure, automation and technology-enabled workflows, the facility is designed to improve how goods are received, handled, stored, sorted and routed while providing room to scale as customer needs evolve.
The Calgary location doubles FB Canada Express’s bonded capacity in Western Canada and creates an additional operating point for cross-border eCommerce, consolidated freight, DDU and DDP clearance, fulfillment, warehousing and time-critical shipments.
Strategically located near Calgary International Airport (YYC)—Canada’s fourth-largest airport and a major hub for international cargo and passenger traffic—the facility provides strong connectivity to key global markets, including Asia and South Asia, supporting more efficient inbound logistics and cross-border movement.
By positioning goods closer to customers throughout Alberta and the surrounding provinces, brands, retailers and logistics partners can reduce unnecessary movement through other Canadian gateways and build more efficient regional distribution strategies.
“Calgary represents an important investment in the future of our network and in the businesses that rely on us to move goods across Canada,” said Nicholas Timmins, President and CEO of FB Canada Express. “We designed this facility around what our customers are asking for: more capacity, smarter processes, stronger access to Western Canada and the flexibility to adapt as their businesses grow.”
The new facility supports:
- Technology-enabled and automated workflows designed to improve handling efficiency and operational visibility
- Bonded warehousing and customs coordination for goods entering Canada
- Scalable inventory storage and fulfillment for eCommerce and wholesale customers
- Time-critical coordination and regional final-mile connections throughout Western Canada
Supporting More Resilient and Flexible Canadian Distribution
The investment also reflects the changing requirements of businesses entering the Canadian market. Customs complexity, long transportation distances and rising expectations for speed and visibility increasingly require logistics networks that can respond quickly without sacrificing compliance or control.
Calgary provides FB Canada Express and its customers with additional options for managing inventory and fulfillment, and building resilient Canadian distribution strategies. Its scalable design will also allow the company to introduce new capabilities and technologies as shipment volumes and customer requirements continue to change.
The facility’s opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by team members, partners and local stakeholders, recognizing Calgary’s growing importance as a gateway to Western Canadian markets.
With Calgary now operational, FB Canada Express continues to invest in the infrastructure, technology and national connectivity required to help international brands and logistics partners enter and serve Canada with confidence.
