Stanley Black & Decker appointed Agustin Lopez Diaz global chief supply chain officer, effective Dec. 15, according to a Wednesday press release.

Lopez Diaz will lead the toolmaker’s end-to-end global supply chain strategy and operations, joining the company with more than 20 years of manufacturing, P&L and supply chain experience. He most recently served as North America supply chain officer for energy technology company Schneider Electric, overseeing 50 manufacturing sites and 13 distribution centers in North and Central America.
The announcement comes after Tamer Abuaita, Stanley Black & Decker’s former global chief supply chain officer, left the role in May. Abuaita is currently serving as a senior advisor to the company as part of a transition and release agreement.
Despite the leadership transition, Stanley Black & Decker reported a 31.6% adjusted gross margin in Q3, nearing its 35% goal. The company credited the improved margin to supply chain efficiencies and its response to new U.S. tariffs.
The company’s tariff mitigation efforts include raising prices and shifting sourcing and production, primarily from China to Mexico.
“We plan to reduce from 2024 levels when approximately 15% of our U.S. supply was sourced from China to less than 10% by the middle of 2026 and to less than 5% by the end of 2026,” EVP and CFO Patrick Hallinan said on a Nov. 4 earnings call. “These milestones are essential for achieving targeted gross margin objectives and for improving supply chain resiliency.”
