General Mills has named company veteran Jonathan Ness chief supply chain officer, a role he has held on an interim basis since late January.

Ness will become permanent CSCO on March 16, taking charge of the company's global supply chain operations, according to a March 5 press release. As interim CSCO, he oversaw manufacturing, logistics, sourcing and planning, per his LinkedIn profile.
“Jon has been a driving force in shaping our supply chain organization, leading critical strategy and transformation initiatives throughout his tenure at General Mills,” Chairman and CEO Jeff Harmening said in the release. “He is a people-first leader and well-positioned to continue our important work driving end-to-end supply chain performance, resilience and operational excellence.”
Ness will report directly to Harmening and join General Mills' Senior Leadership Team. He follows former CSCO Paul Gallagher, who left General Mills in February to become 3M's group president of enterprise supply chain, according to Gallagher's LinkedIn page.
Ness becomes CSCO as the cereals and snacks company works through a multiyear organizational initiative to improve its structure. Last October, the company closed three manufacturing plants in Missouri to help improve supply chain competitiveness.
Ness has worked for General Mills for nearly 20 years, holding leadership roles across supply chain strategy, global finance, manufacturing, procurement and transformation.
