Burberry appointed Matteo Calonaci as chief operating and supply chain officer, according to a Dec. 5 press release.
Calonaci joined Burberry in November 2020 as VP of customer fulfillment and supply chain strategy and has since held several roles at the luxury brand, according to his LinkedIn profile. Most recently, he served as SVP of strategy and transformation. Prior to Burberry, Calonaci worked at Boston Consulting Group.
Calonaci succeeds current Supply Chain and Industrial Officer Klaus Bierbrauer. Bierbrauer will depart after Burberry’s winter runway show and a transition period, the luxury apparel manufacturer said, but did not specify the exact date. Calonaci will report to CEO Joshua Schulman.
Alongside Calonaci's appointment, Burberry named Johnattan Leon, currently senior VP of commercial and chief of staff, as chief customer officer. Leon will lead the customer, client engagement, customer service and retail excellence teams, as well as digital, outlet and commercial operations. Burberry did not specify his start date; he will report to Schulman.
"Both Matteo and Johnattan have been instrumental in strengthening our focus on executional excellence and elevating our customer experience," Schulman said in the release. "Their deep understanding of our business, our people, and our customers gives me full confidence that their leadership will help drive Burberry Forward.”
