Jason Bell was promoted to EVP, chief supply chain officer at Nordstrom, effective immediately, according to a Jan. 23 press release. In his new role, Bell will also oversee transportation alongside his existing responsibilities, per the release.

Bell joined Nordstrom in 2021 as SVP of supply chain operations, leading network, fulfillment and distribution initiatives to optimize the retailer’s supply chain operations, per the release.
Prior to Nordstrom, Bell served as VP of distribution planning and operations at H-E-B, according to his LinkedIn. Bell also held several supply chain leadership positions during his 13 years at Target, most recently as VP of fulfillment operations. In that role, he oversaw large scale, multisite fulfillment operations and helped build out the retailer’s food supply chain network.
Nordstrom has made efforts to optimize its supply chain since outlining it as a top priority in 2022. Since then, the retailer has pulled back on its plans to build out a leased omnichannel center in the Pacific Northwest, and completed the transition of operations from a fulfillment center in San Bernardino, California, to its West Coast omnichannel center in Riverside, California.
